if you encounter a bear you want to make as much noise as possible. yell, if you have a whistle, blow it, just make as much noise as possible, you also want to make yourself look as big as possible. raise your hands, wave your arms. do not run. a bear is a predator, if you sees you run he will consider you prey and he will chase you. forget about outrunning a bear ,he can hit speeds of 30 mph, and you can't.Best advice for black bear encounters!?

People are stupid... They think that all animals in real life are like the animals in the Disney movies...
A LOT OF PEOPLE truly do not understand that the bear in front of them DOES NOT want to raise your child like in the Jungle Book and doesn't want to share a bottle of honey while they sing songs...
MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A CLAUSE IN ALL LEASES ABOUT NOT BEING LIABLE FOR ANIMAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY OR PERSON.
Stupid people will NEVER understand that no matter how cute they are, the animals DO NOT LIKE PEOPLE!
Look at EVERYTHING through the eyes of a severely retarded 5 year old... Because there are a LOT of people that do not have any form of common sense...
These are the people that require that there be ';Do not drink'; warnings on bottles of bleach... ';Do not use in shower'; stickers on hair dryers...
NEVER under estimate the stupidity of humans...
I'd keep a gun close by. But I've heard that if you stand up to them they will go away (literally tell them in an authoritative voice to go away). If you run they will tear you to shreds.
